Not much loss based on how Waldrom has played post 2012. And they're bringing in Pearce from Rotherham as he's cheap no doubt and with an eye on the future, and also they're being linked with Opeti Fonua - now that's an impact player!
Stephen Brett to Glaws looks very likely now

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Rob Miller from Sale to Wasps. Might mean Daly sees more time at centre, might be they're planning for less time with Wade. A good signing in any event, and a blow to Sale.

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
I've heard the rumour, but with the confirmed signing of Alapati Luiea (sp?) who has played mostly wing, but prefers centres, it means we have plenty of cover for 13, wing and FB (if Miller is coming).
Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Neil Cochrane off to Edinburgh from Wasps. So we must be in the market now, lets hope the italian hooker rumours are true.

Raid Sale for Taylor if you can

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Think we're after the current Italian hooker, who looked fairly handy. But with all the rumours, we don't appear above raiding Sale
Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
I'd rather have Taylor, even if he's work in progress. Tempted to think better, and certainly cheaper

Yarde looking likely to stay in London, and to move to Quins. Great signing for COS if it comes off.

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Think it's been all but confirmed, Daily Mail reporting it as done deal, he's on 200k a season.
Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Apparently confirmed by Diamond at a Sale meeting that Gaskell and Miller are off to Wasps in order to improve their England chances.
Gaskell is going to have some competition, but it's a chance for him to perhaps rotate and get some time to add some bulk, which may be enough to help get him in contention.
Miller is a more confusing call for me, especially with Daly, and the fact that our new signing Alapati wants to play centre too. It may be we plan on mixing and matching in and around the international obligations I guess, but even then Daly needs to go back to centre to give Miller any serious chance.

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Diamond so far as I know confirmed departures from Sale, not destinations.
And lets not rule out you're taking Miller to cover both 15 and wing. And lets also not forget he's a rather nippier 10 than your current starting choice.

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
10 is arguably the wild card. Wing is the last position we need more cover on, Wade, Varndell, Lieua, Helu, Basset, Daly, Simpson.
Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Of those Wade, Varndell and Basset are the reasonable starters. A fourth option isn't a bad idea, especially if you want the wingers to really work a kick chase every week

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Helu has really impressed on the wing, and I believe has leapfrogged Bassett. Helu can play centre supposedly, but we're mostly using him as a wing, so I very much doubt he'd be in contention for centre next season when in theory we have even more quality there.
Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Just to show off some of the nice footwork Helu has shown

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
Bassett looks the better back three player, and a better try scorer. Not that either will start absent of injuries/rotation

Re: AP Summer Transfers (confirmed)
I'll admit I like Bassett, but I think Helu can easily be considered of starter quality too.
