Monye has pace, a more than decent work ethic, gives a power running option coming infield, chases kicks well, defends well and as you say is fairly quick. So quick I've seen him isolate wingers one on one and run around them, whereas most wingers wait until a forward and ideally a tight five player is isolated one on one.

He's not a brilliant finisher, but if you're waiting to find a player without faults you're going to have some wait.

That said I do think taking 6 centres, and Monye and Strettle to not have May in the original squad is a little odd. But given the way injuries mount it'd be far from surprising to find May pushing for test selection before we get back from SA.
