Who to promote and when

Who to promote and when
So, I have a decision to make.
I have two backs in my academy waiting to be promoted. Yet I will only be able to train 1, and I don't know if I will be able to give them 10 sessions for very long...
So the question is, when should I promote for the best results?
I can spare 10 sessions from now until around round 6 next season, at which point I will make a decision on those sessions, and will have either 0 or 9 available.
The two players are:
19 y/o (R1, D4) | 184cm | 94kg | England | 50 stars
Right handed, left footed, in satisfactory form Decreasing.
A conservative player with rebellious discipline, average leadership, and horrible experience.
Energy: Fit
59%
Stamina: Admirable 10 Handling: Amazing 14
Attack: Impressive 11 Defense: Sumptuous 13
Technique: Average 6 Strength: Decent 8
Jumping: Decent 8 Speed: Amazing 14
Agility: Sumptuous 13 Kicking: Reputable 9
19 y/o (R2, D1) | 178cm | 84kg | England | 50 stars
Right handed, left footed, in moderate form Stable.
A collected player with collected discipline, limited leadership, and horrible experience.
Energy: Sprightly

Stamina: Princely 12 Handling: Amazing 14
Attack: Sumptuous 13 Defense: Princely 12
Technique: Satisfactory 7 Strength: Decent 8
Jumping: Reputable 9 Speed: Sumptuous 13
Agility: Admirable 10 Kicking: Reputable 9
They are getting Stamina, Tech, Str, and 1 other (rotating between att, def, and agi).
So, basically, I need to choose which one to give senior 10 sessions to, and who to leave in the academy training tertiary skills. Or I give both 5 sessions.

Re: Who to promote and when
What skill levels would you want on them to pay them in your 1st XV once promoted, and what level for the next 4-5 seasons?
Broadly I'd say the 2nd one as his stam is higher, and if there's only 15 or so weeks of training I wouldn't 10 net the lad with 10 stamina. But it might prove most beneficial to sell both and buy one other player to train.

Re: Who to promote and when
I was originally after a wing, and he'd need to be around:
Stamina: Princely 14 Handling: Amazing 14
Attack: Sumptuous 14 Defense: Princely 13
Technique: Satisfactory 7 Strength: Decent 8
Jumping: Reputable 9 Speed: Sumptuous 16
Agility: Admirable 12 Kicking: Reputable 9
So not much better than either.
I could just give those 10 sessions to one of them until the middle of next season, or I could spend them on my hooker:
Stamina: Amazing 14 Handling: Superior 16
Attack: Sumptuous 13 Defense: Amazing 14
Technique: Superior 16 Strength: Amazing 14
Jumping: Decent 8 Speed: Admirable 10
Agility: Satisfactory 7 Kicking: Moderate 5
That may be better...

I'd train the hooker, unless he's much older.

No, he's 21.
So you wouldn't bother...
Hmm. I guess I'll look to get some backs next cycle. Money is tight, though, and I need promotion.

Re: Who to promote and when
If you're looking at 15 weeks of training I think you'll get more from improving an already better player.
Of those backs you listed as possibles for a season or so of training then their TDSP is okay, stam a bit low on one, but I'd perhaps look for more than okay, and I'd suggest their kicking and jumping will be forming a fair amount of their CSR (and salary) without doing much.

Re: Who to promote and when
The handling on this lad is really poor so I wouldn't start with him, but with a bit of patience a player like this should come up on the TM with better handling and still go for less than $20k

Neither ideal, but maybe if they go cheap it'd be worth putting one of them on 10 nets for 15 weeks

When I did an analysis of my own players of first team v YA for different ages, I worked out that the YA will give you more pops for a 19 year old, so I'd leave them both in there for as long as possible.

The only issue with that is that, aside from Stamina, I'd like to focus on skills they don't really need: tech, strength and defence.
(to clarify the last, they both have 12+ on d, and will both have 14 way before the end of this season given 5 sessions per pop).
I'm moving towards promoting one in 3 weeks and one in around 7 weeks, and replacing my current backup 9 and wing.
