Farnsworth looks a like a monster back row.....but low on technique at the moment but everything else is impressive. You playing / keeping him?
Orbeliani looks quite nice as well - let us know how he turns out!

Ill be keeping that little beauty. Teckers is awful though.
This might be a good point to pose a question, on youth pops. In Level 3 YA set up, how quickly do they tend to pop? 5 or 6 weeks? And does this continue at the same speed all the way to 14 skill points, or slow right down?

From my experience 5 or 6 weeks up until 12 ish and then it seems to slow down a bit, maybe 7/8 weeks for 13/14 BUT this does seem to vary massively from player to player. I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a definite science behind it.

Re: Biggest CSR youth promotion
I've got pops as taking 5 weeks up to 13, you can get a 4 or 6 weeks but those are outliers and for practical purposes you can assume 5 weeks.
From 13-14 there's huge variance. I've had 6 weeks, I've had 14 weeks, with most being around 8-10 weeks. Thus training above a 13 skills is to be avoided if possible, of course given YA limitations it's not always possible.

So what position should I chuck him in? I need a #9 more urgently than any other position. But was planning to move him around a bit? In the meantime. Thoughts?

Re: Biggest CSR youth promotion
It depends on how good the rest of your team are. I'd be happy with him playing anywhere amongst the backs. If you're short of kickers then 9, 10 or 15. If you're not then maybe as a winger.

Re: Biggest CSR youth promotion
OK, stupid question time when it comes to pulls... for some reason I can never, ever get my head around this despite about 5 years of trying. So partly this is a written exercise for me to organise and have my thoughts in one place so I can stop wondering, and partly it's so I can get it sense checked by people who are better at this than I am...
Am I right in my assumption that the optimum time to pull your first player is week 1, day 7? So basically the Monday... and then the second player on Tuesday, or at least before Thursday so he gets into that week of training? That's how I recall best practice being?
Then onto reality - this is what I think my plan is for my England team...
due r16, d6 - pull r15 d4 (he looks good enough to play for me so getting as much training in as poss).
due r16, d6 - pull r16 d4 for the extra week's training
due r1, d4 - pull r1 d3 - latest possible before losing him
due r2, d2 - r2 d1 - earliest i can pull him after the guy in the previous week
then in my affiliate
due r16 d1, pull r15 d4 as I need to pull the next guy in w16
due r1 d1 - pull r16 d7 - latest possible date
due r1 d3 - pull r1 d2 - latest possible date
due r2 d2 - pull r2 d1 - latest possible date
I think that makes sense if you ignore the fact that previously I've pulled too early which is why i have a bunch of players coming in week 16... but that'll have to be fixed another time....
Thanks for bearing with me!!

Re: Biggest CSR youth promotion
Were this is with reference to U20s and getting eligible players then the simplest, and safest, model to follow is to scout Round 2 Day 1, and then Round 2 Day 2. The academy promotions update on a Monday night (or Tuesday if you'd rather) so you can get two players scouted in Round 2, and then promote on day 2 the following week(s)
If you just want to scout/promote players for your club then I'd suggest you've two main options, promote on a Tuesday after wages process but before senior team training, or promote on a Monday to play the lad promoted up from the YA in your MNF to protect energy on senior squad members and accept you'll then either pay his wages or be prepared to fire him. If you're happy to promote on a Monday then it's up to you whether you want the player you're about to promote to play in the Sunday junior game, or whether you'd like the newly scouted player to start gaining exp, other than making sure a player doesn't turn 20 promoting on a Sunday or Monday makes little difference, unless you promote after the deadline for a MNF lineup.
