End of Season Strategy
I am coming up to the end of my first season, and wondered what my apporach should be.
I am top of V.3 league, but not in line for automatic promotion as far as I can tell. Should I play conservative aiming to stay in my current league for another season, or should I be pushing hard to get promoted ?
Is it better to build my team at level V for another seaon, or get promoted (if I am lucky) and struggle in league IV?
I have l2 training facilities and L1 coaches and Youth facilities
Any advice apprecaited ?
Thanks

Re: End of Season Strategy
If you can promote. But if you get stuck in Div V for another season (it happened to me) be prepared to stick with it, it will get rather boring if you're in Div V next season, but it gets better once you do go up.

I wouldn't be worried about promoting this season. Use next season to get your training strategies & squad improvement in place so that when you do promote your better placed to survive up in 4.

Re: End of Season Strategy
your top of the league with 3 games left , wnwim them all if you can to reserve your energy and then smash the playoffs , you will then play a qualifier in week 16 which you can chose to lose or try to get promoted .
losing a qualifier and spending another 16 weeks developing will likely be best

Re: End of Season Strategy
Get in Div IV asap, no question.
Staying in Div V playing bots every week will means less enjoyment for you, less experience as a manager at playing competetive games, lower quality IGT for your players, lower attendances, less weekly sponsorship and much lower gains in members.
Yes, you will likely have to fight a relegation battle in your first season in Div IV but there's plenty of 1-click managers, bots, and soon to be bots knocking around which will give you every chance.

In my admittedly limited experience, i'd say get up there and then worry about staying up there. It's definitely more fun, you have the potential to earn more, and even if you go down again, you'll be better set. I've enjoyed div4 much much more than playing bots etc.

Try to go up.
I spent two seasons in V5, currently 3rd in IV.
The 1st full season in V5 was fun as there was another human player, 2nd was boring as it was all bots so I just walked it. This season has been enjoyable, more earnings, more in game training etc. Even if you come straight down it will be worth it.

Re: End of Season Strategy
Ok a follow on question for the last week of the regular season.
Is it worth cancelling training sessions to keep players energy high for the playoffs? I am going to be able to play my last game wnwim which will save energy, but should i cancel training (individual and team) for the last week of the season and playoff week?
Also should i play the first round of the playoffs at normal intensity or LTNT?

Re: End of Season Strategy
im always in favour of cancelling team training for week 15 mate , reducing individual nets wont hurt either unless your training an U20 prospect.
normalling the semi depends on home advantage and how good your opposition is

Re: End of Season Strategy
OK, So I have aced the playofffs and won 589k fro winning my league (V). Have a qualifier to play next week, but should be OK with that as it appears to be a bot team.
What is the best way to spend my money to help me in Division IV?
Any advice would be great

Re: End of Season Strategy
How big stadium should I have - currently @ 8.92 times # members and no standing! Was full for the playoff game, but never filled it before that
What money do I get from sponsors in division IV?, I have made some purchase, but need spme more

Re: End of Season Strategy
you'll get an extra $10k per week in sponsorship being in a higher division. you'll also I assume get a new minor sponsor for an extra $20k per week
how large is your stadium, is it 8.92 members sans standing, that sounds quite large. or 8.92 with standing but then standing is excluded?
don't spend much if anything on players for 5-6 weeks.

Re: End of Season Strategy
To get comfortable paying, break even, paying for lvl4 training I think you'd need about 8400 stadium without standing. For that I'd do 2 additions of 1350 each or thereabouts.
Stadium expansions likely at least one season if not more apart. To do it in one go now would be very expensive, and might not see the stadium selling out.
